Navigating the urban jungle (nyc)

So I just had a few nips of microsleep in a nj reststop.
I was planning on heading into NYC for the day/night, but I'm not sure it's even worth it. I dont have lots of $ and have a car with me that I cannot afford to get towed. Thinking of leaving the car in a 24hr lot in Newark and taking the train in. Will cost me $40 or so w/ train and park I figure. That's a lot for me.
I'm also considering skipping NYC and going on down to Philly now. I drove through NYC late last night and even then, I felt like an ant in a buffalo stampede. Ya'll make Boston drivers look like Canadians. Don't want to drive in during the day or pay 10/hr parking.
Any cheap options for safe car storage I'm not thinking of? Should I go to Philly and maybe try NYC on my way back if I have money? Is Philly like Boston where I can actually find meter spots or cheap lots outside town near bus/train?
Any advice appreciated.

If you go to.boston you can park overnight at Tufts hospital for $25.
NYC is overrated, once you get out of the Lincoln tunnel it really feels like a stampede, but those those turnstile parking lots are you best bet in the city. No other option really.

Yeah I live outside Boston. It's funny cause I could have parked there for free and taken a bus to NYC for $30 round trip
Oh well. Philly it is I guess.

if that is implying Canadians are tame drivers, its quite the contrary.
i bet if your were to drive through the rogers pass (in alberta rockies) in the winter time, you'd be scared shitless.
some of those semi-truck drivers will run you right off the fucking road if your not careful(and if you'r off the road in the rogers pass you'r down a mountain),not to mention the ice, animals, avalanches and ruthless alberta fuckheads on the road with their jakced up trucks towing trailers with 4 sled in the back.
not to like steal you'r thread or anything i just felt i had to defend my Canadian brethren name
anyways hope it all works out for you out their in the big cities, have fun in philly

Yeah. I went snowmobiling up on the Canadian border before, they are pretty crazy on those things I'll say. Replace Canadians with Midwesterners in my comparison.
Also I always thought people from ct were super slow, but on their own turf they are as crazy as anyone. Guess it is about knowing the roads as much as anything.

Is 25$ overnight supposed to be a good deal or something?
Around here you can get a room at a decentish hotel and park for free for like 50-60$
Continental breakfast in cahoots as well

You can find plenty of overnight free meter spots in Boston very easily outside of peak hours.
Philadelphia is nice. Found cheap self-serve parking right downtown and I have room to breathe. It is like Boston but better looking.

I've lived in center city Philly and I can tell you that parking enforcement is notorious in Philadelphia. There's even a reality tv show about it. However, if you are careful and keep the meter fed you could probably find a parking spot somewhere. I would try Sansom St. Don't leave any valuables in your car though and don't park your car in North Philly.
If you don't want to hang around and feed the meter it might just be worth it to pay for a parking garage.
Check out the Mutter museum.

Yeah, cool city. Friendly and proud folks. Sucks for busking though, no wonder there is no street performers here. Fucking anti-hippies and their damn production based music I might as well get high, the world isno place for me. Wish I didnt love it so damnmuch.
I got caught scratching my balls by some lady while sleeping in my car last night. I think she thought I was masturbating but I really just like to have my hand down my pants when I relax. Nothing sexual. When she peered at me intently I just left it there because I didnt want to adknowledge i was doing something wrong. Ugh! Women! They just don't get it.

Are you kidding me dude? Canadian drivers are NOTHING compared to Americans. Driving in some parts of the states is absolutely insane, they have no regard for the other people on the road.

I'm back home now, I cut my trip short because I wasn't making any money busking and started to feel sick and exhausted. I think I'm just gonna take the bus in from Boston and get a room for the night. Probsbly in a few weeks or so when I can afford some cocaine If I'm gonna go to the big city I wanna do it right.
Thanks much for the tip!

also just hang out in the Lower East Side and Williamsburg,BK and Long Island City Queens. those are really the only spots worth checking out if you want to have one of those "new york nights".
