Conservative strategy is now to demonize both the poor and the middle class? Fantastic. Your ideas will never catch hold. Keep up the strong work. Who will you alienate next?!?!

How is that demonizing?  Do you even know what the word means?  It is an irrefutable fact that they do not contribute to providing government services but use them in far greater proportion to their numbers.  Facts are facts.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

No-one appears to be analysing the fact that the states with the most bums and moochers always go Republican.

I don't mind - this failure to accept reality will doom the GOP to oblivion.

That isn't true.  NY and California have far more moochers than any other states.

I was talking proportionally, not in absolute numbers.

---> Why do the states with the highest percentage of bums and moochers always go Republican?

Why do you think they have a higher proportion?  NY and California probably have higher proportions because there are is rather small percentage who live there who are incredibly rich, which skews the average.  As well you have to make a lot more money just to live there.  $100,000 a year and you have a mansion in Georgia.  In NYC you get a 600 sq ft apartment.  Living expenses are much higher.  Eggs cost more.

Yeah so?  Are you saying the red states of N Dak and Alaska are the richest?

Living is cheap in the south.  You don't have to make a lot of money to live there but the federal tax code doesn't take that into account.  New Yorkers get taxed at the same tax bracket as MS but somebody making $20K in MS is comfortable.  In NY they are on assistance.  I got an idea.  Let's let the states take care of their own shit as they see fit and eliminate the overlord as much as possible.  NY will be a shit load better off.  California is boned no matter what.
