Blueish-Gray and wet...Help!

Habitat: These shrooms were acquired from an unknown source through a good buddy of mine.
Gills: Blueish-gray, not attached gills
Stem: 2 inches in length, thick diameter, solid body, sort of hard texture.
Spore print color: dark
Other information: The mushrooms smell kind of funny. They were given to me in a ziploc with quite a bit of moisture in the bag. A friend of mine bought shrooms the same night from a different seller and his were dry and sort of powdery. Are the shrooms that I acquired safe? I cannot find any pictures that look similar to these. Any info would be much appreciated.

They are rotten, even if they are something like cubensis they are not good anymore... Ziplock bags are terrible for fresh mushies

Yeah, sadly these are absolutely rotten no matter what they are (were). You will probably get sick if you eat them. How do those bad boys smell? I bet nasty.

They are most likely rotten Psilocybe cubensis. And they have that look that 'penis envy' sometimes has. Your best course of action is to throw them away, but I know that you may be tempted to take them anyway and hope you won't get sick. In that case I suggest you make tea with boiling water to kill any unwanted micro-organisms, even tough any toxins that could have been produced will remain.

Boiling water will also destroy the alkaloids you want so its pretty much pointless...

It will not. Maybe after hours of boiling, but if it boils for several minutes most of the alkaloids will remain. Psilocin and psilocibin have very high melting points, high temperatures in open air are what will make the alkaloids oxidise and make them inert.

That makes sense, Why is when I made tea a couple of times for my buddies that it turned crystal blue in the hot water? Is that just the Oxidation on the surface of the tea?

That must have looked amazing! I really can't say, every time I made tea, the water turned a light brownish/greyish colour. Perhaps it depends on the species, or more specifically on the quantities of each compound.

K here you go, I got the water steaming, not really boiling, let it sit for about 20 min (way over the time i know these days) and then threw and ice cube or two in it Yeah, iced psilocybin tea, "Great for the summers!!

It was a little darker than it shows in the picture. Lighting in the room was very cold.

You can see why I thought you loose so much potency in hot tea... and yes all my tea cups are jars, i do love my tea, and to see it
