alright, i have some seeds, and i tried just planting a couple, and germinating a couple, and both have not worked, is there anything special i shold do for them?

this is perhaps the best guide for growing cacti from seed. I follow this method pretty closely.

Yes this is one of the best methods to follow, but I find there is no need for sterilizing the soil and no need to completely seel the ziplock bag. Bottom heat helps germination alot. Water lightly with a stray bottle when ever the soil look dry. Use very sandy soil with good drainage.
Sow seeds on the soil surface and lightly cover with a sprinkling of fine soil or sand.

i mix up my own cactus soil, depending on the source of potting soil/peat moss i use in mixing up the soil depends on whether i sterilize or not. I also don't use ziplock bags but rather take-home containers. The rest i follow as you've said.
