Are you certain his activity had to do with greed?
The DEA's little "hooray for us" article draws a direct comparison between end-user price and manufacturer price, suggesting that since each dose is produced for less than a penny and sold for upwards of ten dollars, Pickard is pulling in a profit of some 20,000%. This is ridiculously erroneous. If a person selling two and three pounds of LSD at a time, that person is not selling it at ten dollars a hit.
I know very little of Pickard, but it's not unreasonable to consider the possiblity that he manufactured LSD for a living because he felt it was a good thing to do for society. Perhaps he carries a certain conviction toward the dissembly of the outdated paradigm that dictates our social construct. LSD has a way of tipping people in that direction. Perhaps, then, if you want to speak of karma, his was good.
Any one man with the capability of manufacturing enough LSD to reach the entire planet wields a very heavy sword indeed.
