ID Please
    #17182783 - 11/08/12 12:18 AM (11 years, 3 months ago)

These were growing on woodchips in a park across the street from my house in Seattle. The area was being watered with an automatic sprinkler system while I was visiting. I've seen several mushroom varieties growing there over the past month but these looked new to me.

Thanks for ID help.

The stipe makes me think something close to Psathyrella or possibly Lacrymaria. But you could as well be right, I don't have much experience with Galerina.

yeah it looks as though it has a twisted rather non delicate stipe,  like that of a laccaria, you can see what im talking about in the middle specimen in pic 2. I think this might mean psathyrella is out.. i think, its an odd species thats for sure.

First thoughts on viewing the image, is that they are a  Psilocybe sp.
Either that or Deconica at the least.
Darkening around the cap rim, clearly evident blue bruising on the stipe and purple spore stains on the gills are what scream Psilocybe to me.

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.
