tray of mine question

aight i'm just bored now and running threw the house.
this...

tub is approx. 6"x 9", does this look good to case in as i'd like to try my first casing 1 or more of my pf tek jars in a month
how many fully colonized jars would it take to get a good casing in this thing?
any thoughts at all are appreciated but not necessary as i am just being bored (also see; trying to be patient! )

it?s not opaque and it should be....

you?d fit around 7-8 cakes in that. and 1/2 inch of casing layer.

yeah, granted i'd tape it up. 7 - 8 really? damn i was thinking 3 or 4! it tapers down to like 4" x 6" at the bottom. so you'd just fill it as much as you could, is that how you got 7-8? i thought i bought small containers, plus, they were only $0.89 each, thought they'd work good.

I'm thinking Anno is right, you'd be surpised how many you can get in there. My advice - sterlize a cheese grater (with the large grating holes), it works fantastic. Stick as many cakes as you can in there, and yes, tape or paint it so its opaque (duct tape works fine but ugly and hard to get back off).

Oh, I guess you could do a casing with just 3 or 4 cakes, but don't expect as many flushes and as much yield per flush as with 7 or 8 cakes.

the only problem is i only have 5 jars growing, on cake in a pmp, and the b+ spore syringe is out. and i didn't want ot use too many of the 5 to case cause i'm still noob and wanted to cake still.

you could use two cakes to spawn straw, then you could easily fill that whole tub. But it adds two weeks to harvest, although the other three cakes will be producing a little in the mean time. The shroomgod straw tek is very nice, check it out.

Try 2-3 cakes in a cheap foil bread loaf pan,  its about 8x3

and do you just use plastic wrap or tin foil for a week or 2 and then uncover?

You don't have to use anything, but tin foild is good if you do use something. It seals better, and it is completely opaque, you don't want your mushrooms to start growing. You should fan your casing off a little so that you don't get contams, don't try to make it 100% sterilie like a jar.
