Working on making a trip to Thailand happen here.
Wondering if anyone can either share experiences or link me to information on experiences there as well as flora/fauna, dangerous and benign- protozoa, common infection of a fungal or microbial nature. , things to expect, places to see. Wise gear to bring.
All the info I can find is shitty, lacks depth and is obnoxiously touristy.
Hook a brother up!

Bootsnall.com forums should provide a fairly good wealth of information if you post there.
I am also going to be going to Thailand in the next year, but haven't started researching it yet.

Sweet, thanks man.
My friends who have been there were telling me things are super cheap and when my buddy looked it up he found we could rent a flat for 30 American dollars a month... Live like kings if we wanted to, but I'd rather stick around and live like I already do, frugally.

Check out Thaivisa.com forums too. It isnt as cheap as it used ot be, but if you do it right it can be. Can get a nice small studio for like $150-$200. Meals for about $2, $1 for an actual portion but they are never enough to fill you up if you weigh 170+. Drugs are highly illegal there though. Once your settled you can get weed fairly easily, but have to do be very discreet about it. If your caught will require about 1-2k$ bribe to get out of it.

These blogs were useful on my last trips. I still had the bookmarks saved. I guess you need to narrow it down to what region, (Bangkok) or South (Phuket), on this trip? Are you leaning toward more of a road trip adventure or want to kick it on the beach? I would try to blend your first trip with a little of everything.
