(SGFC)Bigger the better? Even for 12 cakes? (SGFC)

So just before I commit to buying my huge SGFC I just want to be clear on one thing. I've heard RR say bigger the better in regards to SGFC, and advises a height of 16 to 18 cm in height.
But is bigger really better if say doing 12 or a smaller amount of cakes?
I notice in the LGM video that RR uses two different tubs but is this because the smaller amount of cakes would grow more happily in a smaller fruiting chamber, or is it always a case that the bigger the box the better, even if your only doing one cake?
I can only find one alternative to the 115 liter, a box that is only about 14 or just bellow 15 inches high. My gut tells me that an inch or so wont make all that much difference but how right am I? Should I just go with the massive tub?
Box's are almost as bad as half pint jars for me really! They never quite have all the attributes I'm looking for! If its tall enough its not wide enough, if its wide enough, its not tall enough, and if its wide and tall enough the bloody things opaque(etc)!
This big one I'm buying is translucent not clear, so if thats not right please let me know!

I've had great success with a small tub. I'm talking about 5 or 6 cakes inside a 14x9x5 6 quart tote. But, I think what's important is the amount of soaking wet perlite you can fit in it and still have room for the cakes. A lot of times mushrooms would grow up from the top of my cakes and hit the lid and then be forced to bend. So you want good height, enough to have at least 5 inches of perlite and still have room for cakes and mushrooms that may grow up from the top. You also want enough room in between each cake so that the mushrooms are not growing out from the sides and bumping into their neighbors. So depending on how many cakes you plan on shoving in there you'll want a big enough tote for them all. Better too big than too small, you may want to do more later down the road.
As for the color, opaque is bad, translucent is better, but clear is best. They need light and you can't put the light in the chamber with them.

But is bigger better, in all cases? If say I have 12 cakes and a 115L tub? Or even 1 cake and a 115L tub. I mean it is a very big tub, I just worry about keeping the humidity up!
I just measured my smaller GB tote, one which I think I'll maybe use as a SGFC (buy another!). with a layer of perlite 4 inches deep, it will leave a space of ten cms height? 12 cakes would fit in rather snugly, but I'm still not sure if this would make for a good or poor SGFC chamber?
Lol I think I worry way too much!
Your tote seems tiny buddy, 5 inches tall? Well then I think we can probably say that I wouldn't have any trouble using one a few inches shorter than 16 inches?

Sorry hope u dont mind if I bump this and see if I can get a few more bites, I know its not exactly TC bait but I still haven't really resolved it in my own mind!
Mainly again all I want to know is bigger always better, if say I only had 12 cakes (or hell even 3) and the tub I was using was 115L. My plan is to use a box thats about 14/15 inches high which would leave the cakes about 10 inches of space. Would 12 cakes thrive better in that more cramped environment or better in a much vaster one? Is there such a thing as too much space for the cakes?
In the LGM vid RR uses two different box's, one for 12 cakes and another for 21 (or so) this would suggest that a bigger SGFC is not always better and yet I have seen this philosophy repeated time and time again?
I've also seen RR suggest 16 inches high at a minimum, so does that make my proposed 14 inch high SG a total no go?

Too small for maximum performance. The terrarium should be large enough to dissipate gasses. RR

But would 12 cakes in a massive big tub (115-125 L), suffer any ill effect from too much FAE or something? Is bigger always better if say I only have 12 cakes, or would they benefit more from a smaller but taller tub?

Gahhhh I still dont know the answers ! Is it possible that no one else does either?
I've obviously strayed into the opaque and uncharted waters of some incredibly complex mycology here. Ok lets dumb this down a bit then...
Big box (115L perhaps too big) or small box (only 14 inches high), which one would work better for 12 cakes?
Only solution is to find a more suitable box that I have of yet been unable to find anywhere else!

It shouldn't matter how big the chamber is or how many cakes u have in it...a SGFC works one way,no matter the size of the container.
It will have the perfect RH no matter what if built properly.

I like to avoid massive FCs for two reasons: huge ones are harder to move around; and if you have a contam problem, it will spread much faster through a single large FC than a few smaller FCs.
