Ok, please do not tell me to do a search for Spore Printing or anything bout searching because I always find unclear information. Could someone just take the time to type out what they do step by step to accomplish the art of making a spore print and I will be forever grateful to you.

cut a piece of tin foil about the same size as the cap and clean with 91% alchol.
place that piece of foil on a clean flat surface(clean with 91%alchol)
go to your shroom and stick a fisk hook in top of the cap then get a clean pair of sissor(smelling sry)and cut the stem as far up towards the cap as possible,clean the sissor's with 91%alchol also.
hold cap by the fish hook and put it on that piece of tin foil then place a clean jar or tuperware container over it.again be very clean.
wait 24hours or more for the cap to drop spores,now you have to cut another piece of tin foil cut it alittle wider and a twice as long as the first one you made for the cap.remember to clean this piece as well
place the print at one end of the foil and fold the other end over it,fold the three open side of the foil and label it.
your basicly make a little packet like with the print inside a pouch.

can you just take the spores and then mix it with water and suck it up in a syringe so you can inoculate later?

I make my prints in ziplock freezer bags.. open a new on out of the box.. it's already clean..
pop a cap in there.. don't seal it up.. it has to breath to drop spores.. next day remove cap.. ziplock the bag.. when you want to use it. fill it up with clean water.. and stick the bag with a needle so suck up spores....
never simpler!

cool.
if you compare a syringe you get from a distributer versus one you make from a spore print, which one is better. does one have more spores than the other on average. I know it would save you a lot of $

A lot of people make their syringes much darker than what you can get from a vendor. However, it really is a waste of spores as you don't even have to be able to see spores in a syringe for it to be able to inoculate many jars.
Personally, since I have to make all of my syringes and I have access to plenty of spores, I make mine really dark. It's my personal preference. I don't mind wasting spores.

so how many syringes of 10-12 cc's do you think one spore print could produce, assuming the mushroom cap is "average" size?

you need to use a suspension agent such as jet dry to get the spores to homogenize in the mixture if you plan on stretching it. If you only make a few syringes from a print then don't worry about doing that.

I'm curious. People post in here that the darkness of the syringe doesn't matter, that more spores doesn't necessarily mean faster colonization. However, when you think of it logically, that can't make sense.
If the amont of spores injected doesn't matter, in any way, for the speed of colonization, we could iinject a 1/4cc into each jar, rather than each hole, and get the same colonization. We could put an aerosol droplet of water in each jar and get 5,000 jars per syringe. This, obviously, is not true. The more spores that get in the media, the faster the mycelia will colonize. This is due to more "Expansion" sights. Sites where the spores begin to colonize and form into mycelia. If you inject more spores (either by injecting more liquid, or by injecting the same amount of liquid with a higher spore count)
When larger mason jars are inoculated, more liquid is used. This sets up more "colonization sites" (the center part of those beautiful circles of mycelia) the more "sites" their are, the more growths, and the circles eventually morph into a large mass

i totaly agree with that lysergic well said,i like to use a dark syringe.you may not have to but it does colonize faster i've seen this first hand.

What you say is true but when you are talking about visible quantities of spores in a syringe you are talking about millions of spores. Making darker syringes definately ups the chances for germination but once you have one million in there what's another million. It's simply not neccessary. Although, since we are visual creatures, and like to believe in what we can see, it's also not going to hurt to have that extra million or two in there either.
