Pins on bottom & sides of casing.
    #1715412 - 07/14/03 05:52 PM (20 years, 9 months ago)

A friend of mine committed the newbie error of using a clear tupperware container for a casing. Of course, pins have appeared on the sides and bottom. Should he take the casing out, or just leave it to fruit as is? Other suggestions?

If you want, just birth it like a cake and grow it that way. It works perfectly.

I fully agree with you, I?ve never understood why people keep them in the container in the first place. Just don?t like the side shrooms I guess.

hey man, on that very last picture, on the right of the casing right near the edge, is that considered an contamination? You can see a hue of blue/green closer to the top half of the case

To me, that just looks like the natural blueing of a casing after it has produced a flush.

If he chooses to remove the casing, should he ignore the pins on the bottom? What will happen to them if he just leaves them there? Will they abort or will they continue to grow?

They will continue to grow. And if they stop, pick them immediately. And yes, I personally think keeping them in the casing with optimum growing conditions will produce a much better yield.
