Spore Extinction?
    #1716843 - 07/14/03 11:39 PM (20 years, 10 months ago)

Are spores forever? I mean, if you grow and make a print with every crop, will the crops eventually grow thinner producing less spores until extinction or will spores from one syringe literally last forever through home printing/growing/cloning?

Also, I understand the contam factor. So lets factor that out, ok?

If you are using spores from freshly grown cubensis, they will not become "inbred" or suffer any other genetic dificiencies. Re-propagating mycelia past, I belive, the third generation (That is, you use mycelia to inoculat other spawn, then use THAT mycelia to inoculate other spawn, then use THAT mycelia to inoculat other spawn) causes, from Stamets book, some damage and is not recommended. If you are good at making your syringes and your "tek" works, you'll have shrooms forever :-)
