Round Mushrooms?

Hey, I am realtively new to recreational mycology.
I am currently growing some Amazonian Cubensis but when it fruits, the shrooms are coming out round.
So instead of growing up the stalks are growing out as it were, so the caps are on top of huge, round, fat, stalks.
I doesn't seem to have affected potency at all but I'm sure my shrooms aren't supposed to be doing this.
Is it because I am Doing something wrong? Too much humidity? Too little?
HELP!

Yes, pictures would certainly help rule out environmental factors. It could just be genetics as well.

In the meantime, they are literally like little golf balls with golden caps on top. At their apex the stalks are twice as thick as the caps.
They are incredibly strong but it just seems weird that they don't seem to want to grow up.
I've never seen anything like it before.
Could it be to do with temperature? I'm dumbfounded.

I would say environmental conditions. If not enough fae will produce tall/stretched stems, maybe too much will provide you with short/fat stems. That or too much humidity is keeping them close to the sub.
Ofc it can be genetics and you got random golf ball shrooms, mutants aren't uncommon at all

Too much FAE does not produce short/fat stems.
I think it's genetics.

I was reading a post about a week ago where someone got a big fat round mushroom, named it bubbles and cloned it to produce a bunch of fat round mushrooms.

i dunno, i'm not counting out the temps. i had gt's and crs that looked very similar, and both were low-temp (60f+/-5) winter grows. the gt's had fat caps too, while the crs looked more like the op's.

What strain is this you are growing? As Fungal Growth mentioned above, certain strains have been documented as fruiting oddball (hehe) shrooms.
I have read multiple comments regarding short, squat fruits from Koh Samui Super Strain (ksss) as well.
I don't think it will be a problem ingesting them, other than their weird, abnormal shape. Maybe that will be complete solid and have some real heavy weight to them?!

They are (supposedly) Amazonian Cubensis.
From what I have been lead to believe, they should be tall and stalky.
I'm not terribly bothered that they are round. It's just really odd.
It certainly hasn't interfered with the strength, these things bruise royal blue like there's no tomorrow.
And tests that SWIM has done show that they are incredibly potent.

I have had a majority of a mono of penis envy do this for me in the past. They were super dense and worked just fine

This is how they are coming out now!
They are totally solid though so still a good weight and still bruising royal blue.

Search "fat-asses" and you'll find the solution to your problem. It has happened to many growers before you. It's not genetics.
