I don't think you, or the maker of that video, give them enough credit.
Generally the masses when grouped together can be quite unintelligent and lack critical thought due to a herd mentality. I think that on an individual level, however, most people are pretty well intentioned and thoughtful if given the chance.

Very true, most people are wrapped up in their own little personal dramas and thoughts and can thus be a little less than mindful unless the situation warrants attention in their minds.

Agree to disagree. Ive seen first hand, as many do how stupid and disconnected they can be. I like your optimistic viewpoint but I cant help but believe its quite naive.

I do agree with you that the masses can be extremely stupid and disconnected. My optimism coupled with some fantastic life experiences involving well intentioned strangers keeps me from losing hope though.

I would advise all people targeted to hate speech to consider the source and not let it bother them, as difficult as that is, and I would also be for some sort of program that encourages tolerance by showing that there are more in group differences than outgroup differences to help ease future prejudices that lead to hate speech but I wouldn't take away the ability for the hateful to express themselves in a non threatening manner.
I really hope I don't get killed by someone doing a 'hate crime' I mean, I would be a lot more dead if it were a 'hate crime' Also, who decides what is 'hate speech' or a 'hate crime'? Maybe my criteria is different from theirs. We have a document called 'the constitution' that guarantees people won't be victimized by assholes.
and really, i don't need some fucking assclown, politician in a suit and tie telling me how I should live my life or treat other people, ro what I should say. THE CONSTITUTION Takes care of that what the fuck is that so hard for people to understand???
Maybe it is because certain groups of people don't want to allow people the rights that are guaranteed in the constitution/bill of rights.

Please show me where I discussed limiting people's rights?

would you consider this to be excessive or worthy of banning as speech goes?
