It really sounds like a seizure. Maybe the headrush and alcohol provoked it.

I quoted an article earlier that says convulsions are very common (50-70% of the time) when people pass out from compromised blood flow to the brain, like standing too quickly. It is not a seizure.

One cause is the veins in your legs not having the amount of muscles needed to contract rapidly enough to counter standing.
I have full on fainted/dropped to the ground only twice in my life, but I have experienced head rushes when getting up quite a handful of times.
The first time it happened to me I had ginkgo biloba in my system (dilates blood vessels), a couple beers (thins blood), a tylenol or aspirin (thins blood), smoked a couple bowls of cannabis (dilates blood vessels)....so the combination of all of that, I think, made my blood pressure incredibly low, therefor causing me to faint as soon as I stood up.
The other time I fainted it was right after a took a large hit of cannabis. I stood up whilst holding the hit in, right after I exhaled I got instant tunnel vision, my legs became week & loose, and I fell back on my ass.
I take ginkgo biloba daily, as well as smoking small amounts of cannabis daily, and I already have (relatively) low blood pressure as it is...you think those factors contribute to me experiencing "head rushes" more often than others when standing up, etc...?

Sounds like you accidentally preformed a partial valsalva maneuver. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valsalva_maneuver
In your case, your lungs were fully inflated for a period of time. When you first breathe in deep, it exerts pressure in your thorax, and the body adjusts to the external pressure by dialating the arteries in the chest. when you breathe out, the external support of blood pressure vanishes and your BP drops quickly before the arteries readjust. In addition, the air in your lungs had become depleted of O2, increasing the sensitivity to reduced BP.
I recall seeing a video on tosh.o of someone knocking themselves out usng the valsalva maneuver.

Here's a video that shows all the components. Standing while holding a deep breath, exerting pressure on the chest, and passing out upon exhale.

That's been my plight since I was 15. It happens to me often. Generally, the more I do cardio, the more often it happens. If I jog daily Monday through Friday, I'll have the black out Monday through Sunday usually.

I often will have a moment of total blindness if I stand up too quickly. It often happens if I'm at a book store and I start looking through books in the bottom shelves, then when I get up, I have to hold the stack and wait until my vision returns in a couple seconds. Still, I have only passed out once. I ended up trying to grab something so I wouldn't fall and the next thing I remember was being on the floor bleeding from the face because I had managed to pull a rock off the shelf and onto my face.
