My closet as a colonizing incubator...also a ? about dunking
    #1713205 - 07/14/03 02:37 AM (14 years, 2 months ago)

If my closet stays at about a 77F range, will this work well in the colonization process?

I've read some grow logs that mention cold shock/dunking? Can someone direct me to a link describing the purpose and methods of this? I haven't come across any in the pf tek.

THANKS!

Ok, Well let me tell you as from experience. I did not use a incubator, I simply put them back in the box they came in and stuck um up in my closet and it worked great. Just make sure it is dark. As for dunking some people dunk cakes right after they birth them to replenish their water content. Also most people dunk after their first flush to rehydrate the cake. Me myself did not dunk after birthing them, And I am still waiting for my cakes to fruit cuz they are being stingy bastards. Good luck man I hope I helped.

Thanks for clearing that up for me (about the incubation). As for the dunking, do you know of any teks that describe the dunking method? I understand why you'd wanna dunk a cake, but how do you go about it? I'd just like to know incase my cakes begin to dry out. Thanks.

Put them back in the jar they came in and fill it with cold sterile water and put it in the frig overnite. That dunks and cold shocks at the same time.
