Who else hates dams? Fuck those things I say! Let rivers be rivers.
Good news though fellow shroomerites. Dams are coming down.

Yeah, cuz who the fuck cares about cheep and sustainable electricity right. lets build more coal plants!!! yeah!!! let those rivers run free!!! fuck the environment!!!
On a slightly more serious note I do kinda agree with the idea of re-naturalizing as much area as we can. but unfortunately until people get their heads out their asses when it comes to nuclear power (It has actually become really clean and very safe with recent innovations to it) the fact remains that hydro power is the only way we really have to generate large amounts of renewable energy with as minimal an impact on the environment as possible. (Using solar farms to generate the same amount of power as one electric damn would require clearing WAY more land.

Dams ruin the environment. Some dams are okay. However, the army corps of engineers went around building dams that were not needed in the period following WWII. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've never heard of the 4 lower snake river dams. Do some research before you even begin to think that we need all of the dams we currently have. also, you don't need to tell me about nuclear power. i live in the state where it was first created. i'm pro nuclear power, pro solar, pro wind, and pro hydro. the key with hyrdoelectricity is to make sure the dams go in the most efficient places possible. there are soooooo many dams that produce hardly any electricity but are still in service. in the PNW we could probably do just as well if not better electricity if we breached about a dozen or so dams and built one nuclear power plant. its too bad special interests like barging prevent this from happening.
