Some PNW forest mushrooms
    #17122727 - 10/29/12 09:31 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat: PNW old growth rainforest

Trametes versicolor?

I made a tea from them and it tastes surprisingly pleasant and mushroomy. I can see adding them to soups for flavor.

Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca?

Unknown 1

0) Need to see the underside, maybe something like Stereum complicatum
.5) Cantharellus cibarius var. roseocanus
1) Cyathus striatus
2) Tricholoma
3) Could be Hebeloma, Tubaria or Inocybe.  It would help to see more mushrooms in more stages of development, and see the spore print color.

Good point.  Chroogomphus tomentosus sounds good.

Looks different to me.  Why not Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca?

I think it's going to be difficult to differentiate between Chroogomphus tomentosus and Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca with the one photo posted here.

I was! Nice show, although I didn't really get to see everything due to the crowds.
