I've heard that horse poop has alot of amonia in it. You might need to strain it before you use it. If it smells really amonia like I think you should do that first. While you are doing that soak some straw. It's said to soak for 24 hrs, but I get results just soaking it less than an hour. Now the fun part mix your poo with your straw. I use more straw than poo. That's just me. Do it however you feel is right. Just put a layer of the mix over your bed. Not to thick, a half inch will do. Basically you have just recreated the act of a horse shitting on a spot that has mycelium growing in it. The mycelium should begin to colonize the poo/straw mix and shortly after when conditions are right you will get more shrooms.
My outdoor bed is pinning right now and there are many pins. My guess would be somewhere around 50 or 60 ( the spot is only a foot in diameter).
I skipped draining the straw. You should do that. I just thought it would be obvious.
Oh yea, the straw that I'm using is simply grass cuttings from my yard. Seems to be working excellently.

Let the grass dry out completely to a golden color before you use it.
don't use it green.
