Hi all. These were done in crown royal drinking glasses with two layers of tin foil. Top layer to cover the layer that the syringe penetrated. This is the only method I have every used. When I first started I got green mold. I bought an awesome pressure cooker and haven't had any problems since then. So I cooked the glasses at 15psi for an hour. Cooled the glasses over night. Flamed the needle with alcohol flame the next morning and injected. I keep the jars in a big plastic storage bin that was cleaned with bleach.
These jars are exactly a week old. White came in first then some purple tint, and now what you see here. I live in the dry desert of New Mexico, and this color of contam doesn't seem to be common. (I'm no pro) At first I thought maybe I saw pinners, don't know though because I have never seen any in a jar before. I guess you can say I am an ignorant newbie for ten years. I have read read and read. I pretty sure that this is bad, cuz white is right and anything else is trash. I would love any and all suggestions and yes I can take criticism. I have looked at similar pictures. It could be my sorry ass eyes, but I don't see anything that I can surely say is the same problem as mine.

It does not look like pins. My vote is that it is contamination. That purple color is may off and the myc does not look right.
You are using a vermiculite layer, correct?
Also, letting the jars cool in the pc overnight may help keep contaminate spores from being sucked into the substrate during cooling.

Lipstick mold. I don't see any dry verm layer in those glasses, or if there was one is didn't stay dry.

I was talking about the ~1 inch dry vermiculite layer that should be on the top in those glasses.
