http://www.scottsbt.com/catalog/store/images/pennparts/schematics/sg8000.pdf Looks like #12 1191090 12-5000SG A/R BUSHING SPRING
I'm great at taking shit apart...and usually it takes me a couple tries to put it all back together without leftover parts. Especially fishing reels and old vw parts

No problem my pleasure. Fishing has been a passion of mine for years...and now Ive added mycology. That's a big casting reel...you fishing in surf with that? Ive taken my grandpa's old 1960's Dam Quick 550 spin caster (or "coffee grinder" as they used to call them up here) out fishing for Salmon this year...only caught some Jack salmon but very good eating. Also the surf perch at the coast are very fun to catch...and very tasty too.
BTW...gorgeous prints in your signature. Ive just started taking some of my own and find them very beautiful.

i suspect my reel was misassembled; the ring is in a place which i never open! Dam Quick 550 is very stylish reel man! i use that sargus for bait casting in rivers and the beach, have a nice time this summer with saltwater lures.

got to love putting something apart and finding pieces left over... I always have to wonder if it was all that important in the first place or if it was just a manufacturing redundancy... then I get paranoid and try to figure out where to put it back anyways.
