Mushroom Identification- Pacific Northwest

Specimen #1



Habitat:
Found growing on well manicured lawn, underneath pine tree. North Idaho, Mid-October

Gills:

Milk-chocolate colored gills, attached at stem



Stem:

3-5cm in length, white, hollow

Cap:
2-4cm in width, smooth, with distinguished nipple



Spore print color:
dark brown-grey

Bruising:
White stem and cap bruising violet-purple

Other information:
standard "mushroomy" scent. Found in dry area, little rain.

Mushroom #2:

Habitat:
Found in Cascade foothills, Western Washington Late October
Growing on evergreen woodchips, and on manicured lawn. No Tree cover






Gills:
rose



Stem:
grey- black in color. Ranging in length from 6cm(specimen found in lawn)to 2cm(growing on bark, hollow

Cap:
Caramel coloured, 2-4cm in width, smooth, wavy




Spore Print Color:
milk chocolate



Other:
Slight "fishy" odour. Not the standard "mushroomy" odour. Older caps split and curl upwards, whiten with age. Much rain in the previous 4 days.

I'm going to guess an Inocybe species for #1.

1 is Inocybe lilacina

2 is Macrocystidia cucumis

You guys are good! I am new to mycology and posting these finds really help me broaden my horizons of mushrooms genera. I find myself out every day checking out what has sprouted out of the earth. Mycology is very fun stuff!

Me too. I love browsing through the ID requests, trying to guess for myself (but not posting of course), and it feels so good to guess one right! This website and Mushrooms Demystified have been my best teachers.

Also your ID request is awesome, great job! Inspired me to finally get a camera screw this Virgin mobile cellphone request. I'm not gonna post another request until I get a decent f#$!in camera. Great post!
