Hot springs!
    #17088657 - 10/23/12 08:47 PM (12 years, 2 months ago)

You love 'em and nature has got them!

So shroomerites, how many of y'all hit up hot springs on the regular? I think I'm going to try to get back into that grove of going a couple of times a week and at least once a week.

Sykes Springs in Big Sur California is awesome. Its a ten mile hike to the springs. By the end you are so sore when you get there you just drop your packs take off your clothes, cross the ice cold river and scramble up the rock wall to the pools. A girl, a bottle of wine, some good LSD, a bit of cannabis, and a candle.

Now that is awesome.

I try to hit hot springs as often as I am able... best so far has got to be the Blue Lagoon in Iceland... seriously that place is fucking surreal.

Some friends and I went there and almost got trapped, we found this nice little grotto where the temperature was absolutely perfect and started to relax. the bus we where planning to catch back into town as at 3pm so we'd have time to get changed grab dinner and hit up the bar... ended up catching the 7pm bus...

Then a couple days later on the trip I met this really hot local girl, told me the best time to go was after dark when the place was technically closed. so we grabbed a bottle of vodka and went down there that night and she gave me a good look at the "local scenery"

There are hot springs everywhere in Taiwan. Nothing like hiking all day and finishing at the hot springs. The best ones are more hidden in the mountains, or along waterfalls.

My favorites so far have been in Taiwan, Japan, and Telluride CO USA.  Iceland looks amazing.

I'm glad you said your favorites include Telluride. Which hotsprings there is so great? I'm going to be spending my winter there and I love me a hot spring soak after a day of work or boarding.

Ouray was the one I visited a few years back. It had a great view of the surrounding mountains. It's a little outside of Telluride/Silverton.

I think my friend from Durango also recommended: Wiesbaden Hot Springs, Dunton.? If you have time, take the RR Train from Durango to Silverton.
