Cotton balls.
    #1709659 - 07/12/03 09:43 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I've grown mushrooms before. I've used cakes, and I've caked. So, I colonized some jars (Cambodia strain), tried to fruit them as cakes, waited 3 weeks, nothing but large cotton ball looking mycelium growth. So I broke them up and cased them, and (one week) nothing but the same cotton ball type growth. I've tried ever range of RH and temp, still nothing. It's not a contaminant because I picked one off and tasted it, and it tasted like mushrooms. Has anyone ever seen this before? What can do? Thanks.

What are your temps? If there not in the 72 to 78 range get them there. Make sure there is good air exchange in the chamber. I delt with this back in the day I?m gonna guess it looks a lot like this.

I've got my temps in that range (77), and I've increased air exchange, however, the only thing that seems to have happened is the cotton ball type growth has shriveled. Any ideas?
