hello i just wanted to say a few years back i found a green amantia with a bit of yellowing at the sides. i do not have a pic though. very strange. it was found beside other amantias var. farmosa. anyway just woundering if anyone has any comments on this. i will go back to the spot i found it this year and see if i can find any more. just thought this could be a new varriant.

I am unaware of a green variety of Amanita muscaria. If you find any, it would interest me greatly to see photos.
The main Amanita with a greenish color on the cap is Amanita phalloides.
Happy mushrooming!

did it have universal viel remenants on the cap? was the cap viscid? perhaps what you found was a Hygrocybe psittacina...

due to the viscid green cap, yellowish margins in age, and the small stature, that is the only species i can think of wich fits. it is strange when combined with the viel remenants on the cap.

what kind of green was it? could you describe the color, it may still have been an A. phalloides.

Was it possibly Chlorophyllum molybdites (GreenGills).. They have a warty cap and turn green under the gills?

Since no one has mentioned it yet(don't think), Amanita phalloides is deadly poisonous. It'll kill you by destroying your liver.

Do Chlorophyllum molybdites grow up in Canada??? -What is the geographical distribution of C. molybdites?
Maybe it was a type of Green Blusher that you found.. -Like Amanita flavorubescens, the Yellow Blusher..

Did it look anything like this:
or did it look like the mushroom on this page. If ti does, stay away, do not eat, deadly poison.
