Maybe someone here can help me out on an ID for this little cacti I've had for a while, I picked it up at a cacti nursery nearby for $2, thought it looked interesting. It's a really cool cacti, it flowers alot, and seems to be doing pretty healthy on my windowsill, it even grew a little pup not too long ago.
I'm pretty sure its not related to peyote or anything, but it could be....anyone have any ideas on species?

why do they look so much like astrophytums? what in your opinion are there "unique" characteristics? just wondering.

That seeds direct place is way off! Yes, its an Astrophytum....


I blame not my terrible identifacation, I blame the fact that I remembered it's picture from a site that was wrong :P  The heyderi are gigantic prickley balls :frown:

hey mm, i got an Astrophytum super kabuda the other week. it is beautiful..ill have to show you some pics somtime soon. or you could just make it down to my neck of the woods and see it:) ill post some pics of my ever growing garden soon, m69

oh and good call on the blooming lasting only a few hours.  mine had double blooms, and i missed them both :frown:.  but theres another bud comming up:)

Mine seems to almost constantly be producing buds, like right after one dead flower will fall off, a new bud will already be growing. I wish they stayed open longer.
