"Seven per cent of Norwegian men and six per cent of women wear the same pair of undies for at least a whole week before changing to a fresh pair," reports the Age, a newspaper from Melbourne, Australia. Meanwhile, the Norwegian paper Aftenposten reports that a "record crowd" is expected at next month's meeting of "Norway's official association for losers."
Earlier this week, Reuters reported that Norway ranked No. 1 in a U.N. survey of "the best countries in which to live." We shudder to think who's No. 2.

Have you a list of the best countries to live in with their respective average and median income, crime stats, population density, education, and environmental cleanliness? I'd love to see a list of the best countries. I bet USA is about 15th on the list.

The list is goofy if it has the US above Canada. I've spent a month and a half in Toronto, and it's head and shoulders better than any American city except San Fran. Canada is just nicer than America.

I went to Google and typed "UN quality of life index" in the search box. Voila!

I was born and raised in Canada -- spent the first three and a half decades of my life there. I have lived in all three of the Territories and seven out of the ten provinces. I moved here to the Dominican Republic more than fifteen years ago to get away from Canada's overwhelming government control in the life of its citizens.
My parents still live in Ottawa. I usually visit them twice a year, but I can't imagine moving back to Canada -- things have gotten even worse since I emigrated.
If I ever do choose to switch countries again, Norway will not be on my list of potential destinations. That underwear thing is just gross.

LOL! -- I hear ya!
I got sucked in like that, too, a couple of years back. The UN website is a freaking nightmare to navigate. I can never find what I'm looking for. Whenever I want to find something on it, I use Google.
It's no surprise the website is such a jumble -- it's merely a reflection of the chaos that is the UN itself.
