I took a better pic for you guys. Sorry the last one was kind of inaccurate! Looks more rusty red than bright orange in natural light.

That looks a lot closer to the expected range of color for an agaricus, still a little more red than most.  Interesting find.

Yeah, sorry again, the last picture was kind of misleading. Felt like I definitely had to post a correction. If the color in the picture isn't right, then what's the point? yaknow? The first pic is pretty cool though! :biggrin:

Agaricus subrefescens maybe. can you describe the smell, you said it was off A. augustus. did it smell sweet or phenolic (chemical/bleach-like). was it a strong smell or a faint smell. according to my guild sweet smelling, yellow staining agaricus are good to eat.
