Who is God? We are.
I am
It's kind of like seeds from a tree. The seed is locked away behind the safe confines of its shell, sort of like ego..it is created by the tree, yet it has all the abilities as the original tree, to create infinite more trees. The same potential for creation. It isn't aware of this though, until it breaks from he shell and blossoms into infinity, becoming one with the earth and connecting with the environment which sustains it.
We are all connected on the unconscious level, as a mass consciousness. Like a giant web of thoughts and energy. We are all Gods running about our lives in complex patterns, all interweaving with each other, sharing experiences and perceptions of reality. That's where karma/evolution comes into the picture. Perpetual learning, it's perfect.

Because all the Gods humans created were aimed to represent their own hidden wishes of their Selves....
All mighty, controlling everything, stable, able to fly, invisible, blah - blah.....
Why are we all Gods? Because we develop ourselves to that level....Because we do not need tools to control our hidden parts....imaginary friends....We are what we are - we realize it and we become what we wish to become.
LaVey described that really good.... Humans invented Gods. Not Gods created humans.

So America should NOT help stop the spread of AIDs in Africa because the African people are not helping themselves and taking personal responsibility, but are looking to an outside agency (be it God or America) to save them?

If all this searching for god has left us with still the one question - does god exist, then I think it'd be fair to say we can't PROVE god exists. There's stories of Jesus and the bible and that feeling you get when you pray, but when it comes down to it there's no factual evidence that god is something non-fiction. With that being said, who's to say that throughout time people have all just made up these stories about these feelings they get when they pray and what not, to fill the gap with which they don't know? Afterlife? You prove it to me, and I'll follow with bread, wine, and hell - I'll even wash your feet.
People need to stop passing the responsibility onto an external source of blame. WE are our makers - WE control ourselves - WE ARE. Yahweh is nothing more than a superman for the spirit.

Just to get the facts correct America is not really helping to stop Aids in Africa, they are not giving the money away for free, they are lending it. (just another profit making sham)
African countries have to pay it back and with all the interest which means to make them more poor, also they are obliged to only use it to buy drugs from American companies, at high prices. (More Corporate goodness)
South Africa was going to buy Aids drugs very cheaply from Argentina, and USA put a stop on it threatening South Africa and Argentina if they went with the deal.
So maybe your example does not really fit here.
You may have been unaware of the real facts.

My point was unrelated to the U.S. helping with Aids in Africa - my point was that the United States STARTED the epidemic in the first place as a form of population control and blamed it on Africans.
How's the story go? Man has sex with monkey in Africa, catches deadly epidemic, man has sex with someone else, chain continues....
Wasn't that in the 80's? Hell, even if it was in the 50's, would the spread of the virus (being sexually transmitted, non-air-born - basically fluid to fluid) have affected as many as it has?
I think there's more to it than we know...

My definition of "me" is "all life".
So if I need help, it won't come from some outside source, but from myself. Any incarnation of God(i.e. myself) can help me and it's still "me" helping me.
Does that make sense?
