HELP! My Cacti Are Roting! (top rot)

So a few days ago I moved my 2 year old trichocereus cacti (bridges, pachanois, peru, tershekki) to a spot that gets way more sunlight, then a few days after that I noticed some of the top of them was getting white/yellow spots, and I figured it was becuase I watered them and then we got a cold spell. Then another couple of them where red at the top so I figured it was some sunburns and I moved them to a shadier place.
A few days after that I noticed the sunburned ones where roting black where the lines that divide sides are and it got purple around that! the ones with the white/yellow spots seem to be going in that direction too! I have been drying out the soil but I want to know if I have to DEFINATELY cut out the roting part or just let the cactus dry out and treat itself letting the rot dry up...? would more sun exposure dry out the roting aswell?
thanks!

Cut whTs rotting and dust with sulfer powder. Or just cut the top off and let it pup.

Is there any chance that leaving it alone it recovers?
I don't think I can get that sulfur powder but can I place it in direct sunlight after I cut out the rot? I think it would assure a prompt drying and avoid any more roting, no?

yeah I just want to know if you have ever heard of a cactus with top rot that had recovered. Did your bridgessi seem like it was recovering at some point?

it was that purple goo shit that they get.
they have gotten all scabby and shit. i have yet to get a diagnosis of what it is. doesnt seem to affect it much but it is not aesthetically pleasing.
when its rot you will know. its lighter than the gooey shit.

yeah exactly! purple with black goo stuff. Well yours seems like it scabed up nicely. I would have left it like that. Do you think mine could dry up like that? if I just leave them to dry out?
...and no I broke my camera shooting some trichs...

But lophs grow small right? never had one.
I have dealt with the tall columnar cacti like san pedro and bridgesii. its harder to mess up on those yeah?

Well if its the same think ferret had on his bridge then I might just leave them to dry out. The thing is mine are way samller. What should I look for when trying to figure out if they are scabing? How long does it take?
