This may be a dumb question, but what is the pedro growing out of?

Peace

Thank you for the reply.

Is this how most cactus are started? I am just learning to enjoy the beauty of cacti and other plants. At this point I want to grow them all.

Is it hard to get San Pedro seeds to sprout?

Peace

This was my first try from seed. I am not sure how it is best done. I put down the seed and kept it moist from bottom watering and let the sand wick the water up. It gets full sun and never gets rained on. Of the four seeds planted two have came up so far.

you should have it covered with something to diffuse the light a bit cause direct sunlight can kill em early on. also need to keep the humidity in. i use this semi-transparent fairly thick plastic stuff stapled to a frame that goes around the pots. ill open it for like an hour a day to air it out.

I use take-out containers from certain carry-out food places, they're like plastic with black bottoms and clear tops. They work great. And i also follow this tek for starting cacti from seed.

I wonder if I should change anything as they are all ready growing? They are outside and I can easily move them in a shaded area.

I have moved the littlest sunburnt cactus to the shade. I hope it recovers.
