Interview with Jay Hanson, the dieoff guy

I highly recommend reading this interview. Should be plenty of meat to be argued about...

It would be a shame if this interview goes unread by the majority of visitors to this forum, it is long but very interesting. Hanson's theory of oil depletion seems a more plausible explanation for U.S foreign policy than terrorism or WMD or whatever the State department feels like feeding the media at the moment. Most people understand that oil is important but most don't realize to what extent civilization is dependant on it. Those in power understand the matter very well and for good or ill are maneuvering to secure a dwindling resource. Need impels people to do things that they wouldn't normally do under better circumstances, blood sacrificed for an irreplaceable resource.
