any cubensis strain can be grown successfully for the most part on straight verm, although it isn't the best method. Just make sure you provide the correct conditions for growth.

well if you are talking about the "PF TEK" that uses verm and Brown Rice Flour(BRF),what the verm dose is give the mycelium space to breath and that's it the "BRF" gives the mycelium all the nutrients. It was add to this PF tek because if you just would use rice the mycelium wouldn't be able to move or breath and you couldn't see in the jars from all the mush.

sorry, i thought he was referring to an all verm casing.

read it too fast.

correction: you do need some kind of nutrient source to successfully do pf jars or any grow for that matter. buy a coffee grinder ($30) and some whole brown rice and make your own if you can't find any.

soochie your on the right track....afof has been growing off and on the last 6 months. This is his first time w/ gt's. He got great flushes with b+ using straight verm for casing. The gt's are small and few...2in. he's very disapointed. He's got a digital humidity gauge and has been fanning 3+ times a day. Any ideas?

GT's are one of the best in my opinon they'll grow big, make your casing deep at least 3 inched if not 4 the deeper the better.try bulk substrates like straw.

Don't case with strait verm, and you should really look into bulk substrates if you are experienced. Popcorn is probably just as easy to prepare properly as a PF cake, it colonizes in half the time (you can get a jar in 1 week with a G2G transfer) and its cheap as shit. You should grow on a grain and case with coir or jiffy mix for best results, that will probably help you out. Make sure your casings don't dry out too, you didn't mention that you misted them, that is necessary.

Afof uses birdseed then layers it down. He said he tried using cow crap that he got from a nursery and then added some calcium carbonate. He says it colonized fine but never got any fruits. Eventually got trich.(green) But he thinks the ph was off too.

Afof just recently purchesed some majic casing from m/m and is trying that out on some amazons. He said he had never seen coloization like that before, very fast. 3 days and time to fruit.

what was the pH of the poo when you bought it? I've never had to adjust pH balance in poo.

Yoooo, if you want fast colonization, I think it's probably best to use OAT FLAKES, verm, and something extra like millet or rye grain for protein... Search the forums for oat flakes and you should be able to find something. The mycelium eats the oat flakes right up, colonizing the substrate, and then it can start working on the harder-to-colonize grains.
