Newbie Needs Growing Help

hi, i was wondering if this basic set-up would work.
Plastic container soil mixed with cow maneur in a humid, dark area with the use of a 25 watt floro for around 9 hours a day
now to start do i just unload the syringe over the growing area?
and what kind of catering do i have to do to the mushrooms to keep them healthy?

You should check out the FAQ here at the shroomery. Read the MMGG tek or PF tek.

that is close to what you want to have but I would go with the "PF Tek" if your new and you could use it for a substarte then case it with the maneur.
1. you will need a presure cooker to sterilize everything 2.you will need mason jars(canning jars) 3.9 hours a day is way too much light all i give mine is one hour 4.if you "unloaded the syringe over the growing area" with out sterilize it would most likey get contams 5.give them light, humidty, and nutirentes with a clean as poslible invroment
here's a link for a basic PF TEK

yes if they have any. All you have to is pull those babys in a sterile syringe and let them sit in their overnight to allow them to re-hydrate.

It is possible, but hard to accomplish the process for a complete beginner. Itwould involve AGAR (->faq), the proposed route by using a syringe and water alone is very contamination prone.

and I would like to also add put them(spores) in "sterile water" then suck the spores up in a sterile syringe and let them sit in their overnight to allow them to re-hydrate.
here's a link that should help

No, you would place a gill on agar and germinate the spores that stick to a gill.

Hmm.... that sounds pretty feasible. I would be using Agar but I love Karo syrup way too much. Alot cheaper.

The advantage of agar is that you immediately see contamination, if it occurs. And you can separate healthy mycelium from it.
With liquid teks, you don?t see it and you can?t separate it.
