Is it just coming out in the cinema there? I saw it on TV a while ago. Good film.

I have seen the original version of the film in Japanese. I thought it was one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. Very creepy, disturbing imagery yet no violence or gore at all. And the ending is just sooo evil, it's great! I haven't seen the new version but you really must see the original, so you can tell everyone that it was much better than the corrupted hollywood version and feel cool. Also, it may sound silly, as it doesn't apply to the Japanese audience it was originally inteded for anyway... but part of what made the original so creepy was that it was in another language and there were all these weird Japanese characters floating around on the screen. Since I can't read or understand them, they seem more mysterious and threatening.. sort of.. you know? Plus they just look much cooler than our boring Roman alphabet.

It was fairly popular here and in the US as far as foreign movies go. I'm sure most video and dvd rental places would carry it. There's a Ring 2 as well but I found it pretty boring.

I thought the Ring 2 was okay. I agree, though. It wasn't as good as the first. I've heard good things about Paranormal Activity.

What can I say, history fascinates me. Now it has to get a couple more replies, dodge a lock and fade into obscurity for 10 more years. People will look back and laugh at how dated the reference to Paranormal Activity is.

True, it's weird, but I'm deeply fascinated with what the Shroomery was like 10 years ago. Makes me wonder if I'll be around on the Shroomery for 10 more years.
