Personally, I'd rather have a darker syringe. The spore density of a dark syringe is greater than that of a clear syringe.

If two vendors offered syringes with comparable prices and I knew one had a greater spore density, I'd pick the one with the greater spore density.

Injecting a dark syringe into a jar would be a waste of spores, but you can dilute the dark syringe and make a few more. It would be like getting more free.

yeah well if you do the honey tek then you don't have to worry about that.I orded some syringes and i got clear one with a lil bit of dark specs in them and some i couldn't see any and you better believe i was pissed off and i kn ow i would have to use a whole syringe for each jar so what i did was the honey tek to spread them out it took awhile for germination but after 1-2 weeks i could see mycelium growing it was a pain in the ass no dout but if it save you alot of money go for it

dark syringes are better
there is no such thing as a waste of spores if they turn into mushrooms
dark syringes make kramer feel better when he only plans on useing 1/4cc per 1/2pint

Well I'm not a 5 shroom rated member but here is my two cents.

After you have grown your very first flush, what would be the point of buying more spores (unless of course you are a strain collector) when you can just take your own prints and make your own syringes. And make them dark as you want them to boot. Personally, I can't buy spores, so the argument is settled for me.

well heres the deal.

ive been meaning to start another thread about this but since it has been brought up now ill take this opportunity.

I tried to make spore syringes. But it didnt work out. I got sterile water that had been boiled for about 45 mins., let it cool. put the water into a sterile container then placed a shroom that was mature and sporing like mad all over the place into the container of water. i let it sit for a while and shook it around a bit to stir things up. then i got my sterile needle and sucked up the water. i made 2 tester PF jars to use with the new syringe. yadda yadda yadda, inoculated 5 days ago, no signs of growth. ill leave it alone and see what happens, but then again i wouldnt mind having all those different strains around to play with and see which one likes me the most.

btw, how are you supposed to sterilize the shroom you take spores from if youve taken it from an unsterile evironment?? i.e. the fruit chamber. i try to keep it clean in there but it is by no means sterile at all.....
