Casing...............

Ok well I cased 3 cakes, as seen below. I crumbled the cakes into small chunks and spread them out on the bottom of the container. I didnt have anything to case it with besides verm, so i moistened the verm and nuked it in the microwave. Then spread a 1/4-1/2 inch layer over the crumbled cakes. Well It's been 4 days i believe or 3 not to sure, since I did the casing, I checked it today and took off the foil on top. There is no growth popping through the casing layer. But there is moisture on the sides of the container and the bottom of the foil over the container. Is this bad? This is my first time growing. I am doing 9 cakes in a fruiting chamberand 3 in a casing. Also when should I put the casing container in a fruiting chamber? Thanks for all yall's help. It is must appreciated. I will post pics soon as these fuckers grow.

EQ, I did 12 jars on June 8th with a 12cc equadorian mycelium syringe, not a spore syringe.

Put the casing into a fruiting environment when the mycelium begins to show evenly in the shallow areas of the casing. Be patient... 3 days is not that long.
That was hard to type. My friend just chased three grams with a few beers and it's starting to kick in.

Depends on what temp your incubating. If it's just room temp then yes, it will take a little longer. If you have a space heater, then just place it on top and set the heater on low. make sure you keep it covered with foil (no light) and you want some co2 in there to help colonization. once you see rhizomorphic growth poking up through the casing layer then begin fruiting conditions. (12 hours light, fresh air, etc...) also make sure that your verm layer is moist, you want to have it as saturated as it will go without turning watery before your first flush.

Ok well i opened it up twice to see what was kicking up in there. SO i'm gonna leave it closed from now on, and I am storing it at room temp.

12 hours of light? I thought it only needed a couple a day.

yes 12 hours or even more to induce pinning once fruiting light is merely a directional device

cool state your disagreement i find once pinning has started light really has no benefits besides hey shrooms grow this way specially 12 hours of light ?
plus on another note i feel mushrooms do there best growing spurts in the dark....

Not in my friends experience. His BRF jars usually pinned invitro, with no more light, for no longer a period of time, than it takes to check a jar.
It's getting more difficult to type past the prismatic patterns on my fingers.

yes i know but if you dont give it light as it starts to poke through you will end with a case of over lay wich will still fruit but not as well once i patch and get it nice and even i start my light wich gives my foaf the most even pinset with dung straw hes done both ways but for the best pinset he will stay with this method

True mushrooms only need a milisecond of light according to stamets (a flick of a flashlight) but realistically, especially when trying to pin, it is best advised to give it a decent amount of light a day. I usually keep it on all day then turn it off at night before I go to bed.

I agree with Fallen and Soochi. You could give them actually only a few milliseconds, i saw a study that showed that the correct light could induce pinning in P. Cubensis with only a mil's, but Stamets reccomends 12-16 hours of light a day for optimum. If you have your light hooked up and shit at least give em 6-8, I mean... why not? It costs like 10 cents.
