Texas Panaeolus antillarum ....maybe??
    #1700400 - 07/09/03 07:23 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Hey there duders. Well, me and some buds went out hunting today, hoping to find some cubies...but i cant seem to find any anywhere. But we did come across some mushrooms in alot of cow crap. They have a cap that is about half an inch across and white to gray in color. The stem was narrow and whiteish. The gills are dark brown/ to a light blackish color. There was no viel attatched. And they smell, i guess kinda like what i would expect a shroom to smell like.....??? Anywho, and on the stem of a few right below the cap, there were black spores everywhere. Well, sorry i dont have a pic...my bum friend doesnt have a dig. camera. But in a thread i just got done reading, the pics in it looked alot like what we just got done picking....the thread was "More texas shrooms" 1st pic. Ok, my hands about to fall off..gotta stop typing.

Yes, they could be Panaeolus antillarum... However they are usually not considered a small mushroom. You mentioned that in your post.

If there was a copper, yellow or gold tinge to the cap, you could have found Pan. cyanescens. Which is indeed hallucinogenic. Pan. antillarum is not active...I would not consider eating them either without a better description and ID.
