Perlite floating in a pod
    #1698994 - 07/09/03 07:06 AM (20 years, 8 months ago)

I just made a pod of out airstones, perlite and water. The perlite seems to float on top of the water and get somewhat dry on top.

I don't have a humidity meter yet but there's no condensation on the sides of the container and it has been running since last night. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

I think you have a layer of air between the water and perlite.Same thing happened to me.Put your airstone in a cup of peroxidated water.

I'll try taking a picture later but for now. You're saying if I took the airstone out the later of air would disappear and the perlite would sink? So I put the two airstones in a container with water containg peroxide on top of the perlite?

Btw I got a hygrometer and it read HI as long as I keep the big plastic container closed. If I open the top a couple inches the guage slowly drops to like 75%.
