What the frig.....

i think i already know the answers to the questions im going to ask, but what the fuck.... im bored, so i feel like typing.....
so i started doing WBS recently.... instead of spawing poop i decided to try casing the WBS.... i always had great flushes with my BRF casings, so i gave it a shot.... 2 out of 3 casings got struck by Green and were banished to the back yard..... the remaining casing is pinning just fine, but the mushrooms seem all thin and small.... the really strange thing is, alot of them have this deformity.... they seem to have a little tan knob on the tip of their caps..... it looks like they are wearing a strange hat.... its not mycellum, thats for sure... it looks more like what the stem is made out of..... ive never seen anything like this before.... and my bad luck is really starting to piss me off.....
the only diffrences between this flush and my other growing attempts, is teh WBS, and my new fruiting chamber...... i built a pod.... it seemed to me like it would provide enuff O2 exchange, and the humidity it puts out is VERY high....
perhaps thats the problem?
i re-attached my cool mist, and im running it dry, 10 min on every 3-6 hours or so..... that should help with the air exchange problem.... as for the humidity, the pod works so well, if i get it down to 80% it hits 100% within 5-10 min....
oh yea, ive never grown during the summer either, could the temprature be part of the problem? my grow room is in the 80s during the summer..
i really dig my pod, and i dont want to go back to perlite and coolmist, but if this keeps up im gonna have to

My friend does not use a pod but he has seen the little knob you are talking about. It did not seem to be a problem and the fruits matured just fine.
Regarding the skinny stems, my friend agrees that it is probably linked to air exchange.

ok cool, its good to know the knobs arent some sort of contam.....
now as for air exchange.... i dont see how im not getting enuff....... every time i check up on the casing i fan it..... PLUS i have 2 air diffusers bubbling under the geolite + water they are running 24/7 and from a double air pump......
from what i heard some people only fan 1-3 times a day without a problem......
what sort of fruiting chamber does your friend use? im still searching for a perfect fit....

He uses Stearlite tubs & containers of perlite, air exchange provided by a cascade humidifier.
Is this the only grow during which you've experienced the skinny stems? TMC says that elongated stems can also be caused by insufficient lighting.

I doubt... light has anything... to do with it.... I would have to.... agree with lack of air... exchange... Pods are generally... somewhat small... holding little air... so they require... to be fanned more often...
Is there any chance you can take a pic? I'd like to see these "knobs."

its also the only grow ive completely done in the pod....
last grow i started in my old chamber and finished in the pod... it grew out just fine......
this one was started in the pod..... its getting at least a few hours of light a day....
this is really perplexing me......
this plus the fact that i had 2 casings contaminate is really bugging me out..... up untill now ive never had problems like this.....

the pod i have is homemade, its rather large (for a pod) its the size of a standard rubbemaid..... it should hold alot of air, and with 2 diffuser rods i figured it would have plenty of fresh air.... Hmmmm
sorry i dont have a camera so i cant post a pic of the knobs

From what I've heard, that sounds like something called "rosecomb" (do a search.) It comes from getting lysol or petroleum products on the growing mushrooms. It just looks ugly as sin; it won't hurt anything.

ive seen teh pics of rosecomb, and they dont exactly look like that either.....
they are small, so its hard to tell..... perhaps i got some lysol on the caseing, but thats happened plenty of times before and i never got little pins with hats....
