Since you can spawn to poo outdoors w/o having to worry about pasturizing or sterilizing, would it be possible to innoculate and colonize outdoors w/o sterilizing your grain or BRF? It seems reasonable, but that doesn't mean it would work.
Anno?

i wouldnt think unless you let it colonize outdoor becuase as soon as you your brougfht it in all the normal contams would be their to kill it unless it was strong enough

Assuming you mix and prepare the jars outdoors theoretically it could work. I'd recommend doing a control jar and not innoculate it. If it doesn't contam within 5 days you should be fine. Then try it for real and see what happens.
On second thought I'm having some doubts. The stuff you'd use to make the jars was probably inside at some point. Grains have bacteria in them I think which is why you must pc them. You'd have to sterilize the jars beforehand. I wouldn't bother doing it for real if the bag of substrate (grain or brf) has been opened prior.
Just because there's no contam filled drafts outside doesn't mean the substrate doesn't have millions of mold spores and bacteria all over it. You could definetly innoculate outdoors to cut back on contams.
Try the control though I'm curious as to if it really would work.

I really am interested in this, but unfortunately, I can't do this experiment b/c I got rid of all my cult. stuff since I'm moving to school soon. Anyone else want to try it? I am very interested in the results.
