The blue/purple hue to them is an indicate that they are either very cold or very dehydrated, likely the latter.
The darker the skin the healthier they are as you have said; also light green also seems to indicate less alkaloids.
Blueish green hue is normal however for the Torch that is very healthy.

1. Cereus Sp. 2. Echinopsis spachiana 3. Stenocereus pruinosus in the front and Saguaro(Carnegiea gigantea) in the back.
DO NOT STEAL other peoples plants if you find active cacti. It is very easy and cheap to buy your own cutting and grow your own. You can find it on popular action sites and also in local nurseries/stores.

these do not appear to be dehydrated whatsoever
i want to say the darkish hue is more due to being new growth... i think you will notice that you can wipe a finger on this new growth and a residue will rub off giving a more normal appearance of color... although it looks better left alone!

Don't worry, I'm no cactus thief, just looking to expand my knowledge on all different types of cactus. Thanks for the quick response!

yea looks like backberg clone.
i sprouted a bunch of regular pachanoi from World seed supply along with their pachanoi myster and bridgessi. the regular pachanoi sprouted in 2 days and are extremely vigorous. after 4 days i'm finally seeing bridgessi. any clue on the pachanoi from WSS? interested in if its backberg or what's gonna come out of it
also i found a monstrosa peruvian matuanca from WSS in my bunch of seedlings

awesome that could potentially turn out really cool. all those seedlings go outside whenever it stops raining. here the cacti grow best in winter :P

Thank you

The first one looks similar to a Stetsonia coryne, the second appears to be trichocereus cuzcoensis, and the third is too dark but more than likely a T. pachanoi
Edit: 1st is not active, 2nd is said to have only trace amounts of mescaline but dont know for sure, and 3rd is most likely PC pachanoi, it has less mescaline than other cultivars but it does the job, make sure you ask for a cutting though nobody likes having their cacti stolen
