Habitat: West TN, mostly hardwood forest, terrestial
Gills: White, nearly distant
Stem: almost two inches if I recall correctly.
Cap: Under an inch
Spore print color: Didn't take one, like an idiot
Bruising: Blue
Other information: I found it on 5-9-12, and I've been kicking myself for not giving more attention since. Go ahead and give me all the shit you want. I deserve it. Anyway, these pics are all I got.

I think you ought compare to Mycena amicta. That second picture would make a great addition to mushroomobserver.org
EDIT: Hell, both would. What am I saying? Upload 'em if you can.

That's the closest I could come up with too. I had no idea they were in this area though.

Many mushrooms, especially less common ones, can have large distributions.
Actually, now that you point it out, your collection is probably Mycena subcaerulea due to the collection location.

It's possible. For some reason it just looked different to me,and wasn't on or near a log.
Here's som M. subcaerula I've found before.

Is your cap kinda lightly colored compared to the stem?

Yeah it is, we all thought it was odd but the consensus was among the TI's that it was M. amitca.

I just read the OP's much earlier post prior to this one regarding the Mycena find (oddly enough). Are these from the same pics b/c I think there was another pic or two? They look wicked! Almost like a deep sea bioluminescent fish.

They are seperate finds. The one in this post is about a month later than then patch in the very old post. It was growing by itself, as opposed to the patch.
The more and more I look at this post the more I just want to call it Mycena subcaerula.

You definitely should. I'd love to see some more of these guys around. Plus all Mycenas are good for the eyes, so you can't lose.
