Well, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I didn't see an answer in the FAQ or from a "Which Hygrometer" search. What are your recommendations on hygrometers? I'm not looking to spend more then 50$ if that is possible. Most hygrometers I have seen are 30 - 80% RH accurate, which isn't enough correct? Thanks in advance

Most hygrometers below 50 bucks will not be accurate above 80-90, but that is good enough. My friend uses this one, pretty cheap and just says "Hi" when above 90%, and he has had no problems with it.
This looks like the updated model of what he has...

There is another one that people like on this board, I'll do a quick search and find it for you...
This one:

there is also a "cable free" version that is more expensive (50 bucks)
hope this helps...

99% rh....what's that mean? I found one at radio shack for 31 that displays temp and humidity...but what's rh? Is that the level of humidity? In which case, i'm assuming you'd need one that measures up to and above 95%, correct?

RH means relative humidity. Depending on the temperature of the air, it can hold a different amount of water. So cold air has a hard time keeping moisture so 90% humidity at a low temperature is much less than at a higher temperature. So any hygrometer should measure the humidity at the temperature you are at, or your relative temperature, thus relative humidity.

Right, I've actually had this explained to me before but it goes to show how strong the myth is that I still believed it. Thanks again for the schooling Anno. Good thing I stuck to computer science!
