Spawning to larger jars
    #1694477 - 07/07/03 08:49 PM (21 years, 18 days ago)

Is there a tek dedicated to spawning?  I want to take my pint sized cakes of colonized BRF and use them as spawn in quart sized jars with a WBS or Popcorn substrate.  I remember reading that 1/10 is a good spawn to substrate ratio.  Do I simply crumble the BRF cakes into the jars with the new steralized substrate?  Is there a high risk of contams?  Should I evenly distribute the spawn throughout the substrate?  I wanted to use my quart sized cakes for some straw logs.

Would I be better off just fruiting my pint cakes and starting all over with new syringes on my quart jars?  Im really worried about contams.

I take it the more spawn I add the faster the colonization?
