in general, no.
it may be possible, depending on the weather, and whether the ground in the area has been disturbed, that you have found someone's cultivated patch, but it is more likely that you have found a similar looking species, perhaps a Stropharia, an Aminita, or some such other.
good luck, and if you can get a pic i'm sure someone will be able to help.

if you still want it ID'd be sure to include a detaled description of all the signifigant features.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

No, you don't have Ps. cubensis. They do not grow that far north period. They also don't grow from grass/lawns. There is no chance at all that what you found was cubensis.

it would depend on a lot, and it's unlikely. i have no idea what the weather is like there, and querilla patches for cubensis aren't verry common IME.

I really hope you didn't eat it.

99.99% chance that you DID NOT find Ps. cubensis. Most likely a look-a-like species like concrete said...Stropharia or Amanita.

If you want an ID, give us some basic information listed in the stickies at the top of this forum.

First questions I'd ask is: Dit it blue upon bruising ? Was there a veil or skirt around the stalk? What was the sporeprint color?
