Just another woodlover project...and a few questions

Greetings all! I've had this woodlover project on the go now for about 9 months. I'm preping for the final stages before what I hope is a fruitful harvest.
I started with 2 spore prints - Ps. cyanescans and Ps. azurescans. I used those to inoculate some PF tek jars enriched with hardwood saw dust. Once colonized, I transferred those to zip lock bags of alder chips...then onto tubs of mixed hardwood chips/chunks. Until I was left with what you see below -

At the end of August I began to transfer the colonized chips to larger outdoor tubs that I intend on fruiting from. I mixed the chips with a combination of organic potting soil, vermiculite, rye grass seed and a little organic compost mix. I placed a layer of uncolonized chips and soil mix about 2-3 inches deep on top as a casing layer. Since then the growth of the cyans has been explosive, and the myc is growing through the top layer and taking it over. I've been dealing with this by incrementally adding fresh soaked wood chips and chunks on top, but that is quickly consumed by the hungry mycelium.
So, my first question is this... Should I just let the cyan mycelium take over the top layer of debris? Or is there a chance that will let the mycelium dry out? Would it be better to add a more substantial casing layer (wood, potting soil etc.) and let it grow through again? I'm not sure on the best approach here.. I feel like its going to be another 4 weeks or so before conditions are favorable for fruiting these (I'm up in Portland, Oregon).
Here's what the tubs were looking like a week ago, after a little top up -

As for the azures. There has been mixed success. Of the 4 tubs, 2 look to be doing fine. Myc growth is no where near as vigorous and the cyans, but definite signs of growth through the casing layer. The 2 others don't seem to be showing much sign of spreading. I got curious and dug a small hopefully unintrusive hole to see if it was growing through. The mycelium looked happy enough I guess but was sitting under 2 inches of soil heavy casing layer. I'm wondering if I should mix these 2 tubs and keep a much lighter casing layer to allow for slower growth.
Anyway, that's where I'm at. If anyone has any sagely advice on where to go from here, it would be much appreciated! Thanks.
