I was just wondering if Psilocybe Cubensis could be picked wild in the Uk (S.Wales in particular). i have been picking for a year now and have never found one despite living in the midst of farmland. Plus anyone in the Gower/Swansea area know any good sites, probably a long shot because at just 15 i have become the local mushroom guru. That's Wales for you.

Y'know, you really should be looking for Ps. semilanceata, or liberty caps. Those will grow in your area.

LAte July through the rain until the freeze in pasture lands, in manured soil, never directly from manure.
P. sierrae (=syn. P. subfimetaria) looks like liberty caps and grows in manure, rare but in the UK.
P. cyanescens in the fall under rhoderdendron and other bushes in muclched gardens. Found at Kew Gardens in Surrey and at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh. (You did not hear that from me)_

Wow! so I could perhaps introduce a Mr shroom to Mrs rhoderdendron? or isn't it that easy?

Lol no kidding. The poster was 15 years old at the time of the post and now is 27.
I relocate cyan myc to rhodys in the forest trying to get that going. Staments says rhodys are good....so gotta try it.

Sorry chaps Could I take this opportunity to wish the thread a very happy 12th birthday...and the poster a VH 27th? (if he's still with us) Also can I also congratulate The Shroomery on its longevity,
So...if I can breathe new life into an old thread there's hope for this old dog yet.
PS I'm scouring the neighbourhood and this part of South Essex is more horsey than cow-ey (a sign of its gypsy heritage) Is that still good to go?

Maybe he still wanders those bleak hills, searching wearily for the promised land...or maybe he just gave up and has a wife, two kids and a middle-management job at Tesco
Meanwhile, it's maybe time to put this thread gently back into its box and I could continue scouring the foothills of South Essex...or I could just get back to Halo Reach Legendary (yep...I completed that at 70) I'm still convinced it helped me become lucid.
Time's running out for me http://www.shroomery.org/forums/images/icons/roll_eyes.gif
