Shpongle turns me off so much, i cant even explain, sober or on shrooms i might just go crazy. Officially probably some of the worst music ive ever heard (not the radio).

On dmt my mind can enjoy electronic music, and makes electronic music, on mushrooms its purely organic for me, acoustic or hand drumming preferably, synthed noises are so disgusting to me.
I downloaded some boards of Canada and Forest for the tree's....Cool music, but not tripping music in my opinion.

Also I find classical guitar VERY relaxing, and I'm never in a bad mood when I listen to it sober. I've got to try it on shrooms some time.

If you haven't heard the Paco De Lucia / Al Di Meola performance of Mediterranean Sundance, you must get it. Its amazing

Is Shpongle and Infected Mushroom the same person? I didn't think so since I got a Shpongle vs Infected mushroom mixing live, but my friend said they're the same person, anyone know for real?

No, Shpongle is mainly Simon Posford, with Raja Ram on flute..
Infected Mushroom is a different guy. I forgot his name, I think he's from Israel...

don't judge Shpongle if you have the mp3s...... having it cd-quality is a completely different experience.

EllemyshShade, You'll have to make sure you take Shpongle as an absurd joke when you're listening to it on shrooms - it gets completely absurd  If you're into electronic music at all, then Are You Shpongled? should be the one for you  Its like an advertisement for modern audio technology or something lol

I really enjoy the darker side of electronica/goa. My most recent favorite is "The Delta - Scizoeffective." They mix some INTENSE orchestra-type swells with some serious minimalistic beats.

One man's Hell is another man's Paradise.  Taste is subjective.  The beauty behind taste is the objects of observation that we empower and attach to, are inherently void of any meaning or power...therefore all experiences that speak to us "deeply" are valid since it's our own mind that empowers and labels the music as something either good or bad; meaningful or crap.

Boppity

Herbalizer is some of the strangest music I've ever heard...very cool though and would expect it would be quite good under the influence.

it's up to you what you like. I enjoy the same music that i like when im not tripping exept for a few exeptions. I've tripped and listened to britney spears while getting driven around in a car, i wanted to fuck the shit out of her mouth. When sober i can think of a million other celebrities i would fuck. Mostly though i like punk, theres nothing like trippin out and listening to the ludest local punk band or whatever other lude one and fuckin drinking beers and farting. I feel like such a dirty outlaw that scares little girls. Its the bomb!

Strange ?? Don't find it strange at all. I don't know the name of the album, but it's the one with "mission improbable".

If you think that was strange, try RYOJY IKEDA & CARSTEN NICOLAI - CYCLO.  it's absolutely the weirdest thing I've herd. It will make herbalizer, aphex twin and autechre seem childish.

If you want to go Hippie with Scitars and folk sounds try a Scottish band called INCREDIBLE STRING BAND if you can find it. The lyrics are quite a tapestry of imagery. The album to look for is a double album actually. Wee Tam and Big Huge. If you can get them seperately then cool. It has a really earthy 60's sound that is pleasant to listen to and can send you on one hell of a journey. I'm definitely not old enough to have heard it when it came out, and I only discovered them a couple of years ago. Someone smoked too much pot and this album calmed them down as they lost themselves in the waterfall of lyrics. Especially on a tune called Maya.

Another lyrical band is Neutral Milk Hotel. Stick to their first album though. They combine rock with Irish folk instruments. Good for seeing little people and faeries.

oh shit good recommendation, Boppity - damn you have excellent taste!

Makyo - Yakshini is an incredible album for those into tribal-sounding stuff with a nice dose of electronic fusion
