Picking from a PK cake-infected?

ok. what is the best way. my friend cut them off with a knife. the stem and inside the stem are blue. also, where i cut it off is blue?
anyone know a good place to learn more?

blueing is normal. its a reaction of the psilocybin. is this blueing the "infection" is so dont worry.

blueing is used by some wild pickers to determine if the strain contains psilocybin but not a "golden rule"

I've read the "twist & pull" technique is preferable to cutting as cutting can miss tissue at the base of the stipe that will most likely rot. Not a big deal really, maybe try it next time :wink:...and watch for rotting (blackening).

Bluing when cut or handled is normal.
Like it was said before, twisting and pulling the mushrooms is more effective than cutting them.
